North & East, Poland 1997

Eight years after Poland had thrown off the shackles of Communism, Bridget cycled through some of the country’s most evocative regions. Gdansk, home of the Lenin shipyards and Solidarity, Kashubia, a land with a special language and culture, the Tartarsky Sliansk, the route where Islamic Tartars have lived quietly through the centuries. Photographs were taken for a British family cycling magazine.
