Transhumance Nimaesti Romania 2012

Villagers in Nimaesti, Romania, are still taking their flocks to the summer pastures in 2012. Bridget walked with them, the 59 kilometres overnight trek to the alpine meadows where the family will spend three months. They milk the sheep twice daily, and make cheese in the wooden cabin. Their son makes regular visits to collect the cheese and sell it in the tocal market.
